Cambridge IGCSE Information and Communication Technology (0417) combines theory about ICT systems and their effects with practical skills in document production, databases, presentations, spreadsheets and website authoring. All candidates take three compulsory externally assessed components and are eligible for grades A* to G.
The syllabus is unusual in how sharply it separates its assessment objectives. Paper 1 carries 100% of the AO1 and AO3 marks, while Papers 2 and 3 are entirely AO2 — so theory revision and practical skills training are effectively two independent preparation tracks.
