Can I Pass with a D+?
Short answer
IGCSE does not use D+. IGCSE grades are A*, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and U. D is a pass. If you have a D, you have passed. Some school or national systems use D+; IGCSE does not have plus/minus grades.
IGCSE grade scale
- A–G:* Graded (all except U are technically passes)
- D, E: Pass grades (lower)
- U: Ungraded (fail)
“D+” in other systems
- US-style grading: Some schools use A+, A, B+, B, D+, D, etc.
- IGCSE: No plus/minus; only letter grades A*–G
- Equivalent: A D in IGCSE is a pass; it may be reported differently in some school systems
Practical takeaway
A D in IGCSE is a pass. Many universities and employers expect C or above in core subjects, so aim to improve if you can. See is D considered a fail.
